Floyd Mayweather just couldn’t stay away from the limelight.

The retired boxing world champion rained on Kobe Bryant’s parade after the Los Angeles Laker legend wrote a thank you post on Instagram.

Bryant posted a behind-the-scenes clip on the making of “Dear Basketball” on his Instagram account on Saturday, dec. 23, giving a toast to his partners Glen Keane of Disney for making the animation and John Williams for doing the musical scoring.

“I couldn’t imagine anyone else directing and animating something so personal to me. Thank  you @glenkeaneprd #DearBasketball @go90sports,” he wrote as the movie was shortlisted among the Oscar nominees for animated short film.

But right smack in the middle of the barrage of comments was Mayweather, the undefeated boxer, who boasts of an undefeated 50-0 record, issuing a challenge to the five-time NBA champion.

“@kobebryant I’m ready to play you one on one for $1,000,000,” he wrote.

Mayweather last fought in the ring last August, knocking out Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor in a cross-over boxing match which earned him a reported $300 million.

The brash fighter, however, showed another side of his game as he proved that he can also play ball, draining 11 straight threes when he took a short break from his training for the McGregor fight, as reported by TMZ Sports.

After the McGregor fight, Mayweather immediately went on to face Isaiah Thomas in a pickup game, before playing in a charity basketball game the following day.

Bryant, one of the greatest basketball players ever, though, is a different beast on the court and while Mayweather may be unbeaten inside the ring, he’s no match for the “Black Mamba” on the hardcourt. –
